19th Annual Innovations in Design Analysis and Dissemination: Frontiers in Biostatistics and Data Science |
The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) Department of Biostatistics & Data Science, in partnership with the Kansas-Western Missouri Chapter of the American Statistical Association (ASA), is pleased to announce the 19th Annual Innovations in Design, Analysis, and Dissemination: Frontiers in Biostatistics and Data Science (IDAD) scientific meeting, to be held April 20-21, 2026, on the KUMC campus in Kansas City, Kansas. The conference will be held entirely in-person. The deadline for abstract submission for a poster/oral presentation is Monday, March 30th. The deadline for meeting registration is Friday, April 10th. Registrants submitting abstracts will be notified by April 6th regarding the status of their submission.
New for 2026, IDAD will be intentionally paired with a signature public-facing event. Immediately following the conclusion of IDAD on Tuesday, April 21, the Department of Biostatistics & Data Science will host the Second Annual ASA Dionne Price Public Lecture Series at 3p CT. This year's Dionne Price Public Lecture will be delivered by Dr. Lorin Crawford, Principal Researcher, Microsoft Research, entitled A statistician's roadmap toward an AI-driven paradigm for precision oncology.
While IDAD and the Dionne Price Public Lecture Series are distinct events with complementary missions, their consolidation this year reflects a shared commitment to advancing biostatistics and data science across both the scientific community and the broader public. The Dionne Price Public Lecture Series was established to honor Dionne Price's legacy and to highlight the role of statistics and data science in addressing critical real-world challenges. Hosting this lecture immediately following IDAD creates a unique opportunity to connect cutting-edge scientific exchange with broader public engagement.
