
INSTANT Study at KU Medical Center
Initial Eligibility Questionnaire
Study Purpose
The goal of the INSTANT study is to understand how different types of daily stressors may influence people's ability to be active and sleep well.
Study Qualifications
To qualify for this research study, you must:
- Be enrolled (or plan to enroll within 3 months) in a community-based weight loss program.
- Be able to attend in-person visits at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Own a smartphone and be willing to download a mobile application to receive text messages.
There are additional study specific qualifications that will be discussed with a staff member.
Study Duration
This study will last for 26-weeks (about 6-months), with 4 in-person visits total.
Compensation
Participants can earn up to $300 for completing the study.
You may also receive a waived or reduced initiation fee from the KUMC weight loss program for enrolling in this study.
Community-Based Weight Loss Programs
Since participation in a community-based weight loss program is a study qualification we are offering a reduced price at the KUMC weight loss program. We are offering a $362.00 reduction on the program fee, so INSTANT participants pay $97.00 for the entire 6-month program.
